Pray Psalm 83 For Israel/Gaza War

About 2 1/2 years ago I posted about Psalm 83 as many were describing it as prophetic. Psalm 83 is a prayer penned by Asaph to thwart Israels enemies that surround her. Here is that post in its entirety:

Psalm 83 War

Several prominent prophecy ministers are teaching a soon coming ME war based on Psalm 83. They say it will be a war won by Israel that will devastate Israel’s surrounding neighbors. And, supposedly, it will be a stand alone war, prior to the final conflict of Ezekiel 38 &39. If that is true, then we certainly need to be watching for it in the very near future. But, is it what the Psalm declares ? Here is the text of Psalm 83; Psalms 83 | NIV Bible | YouVersion

Let’s analyze this Psalm. First, who is the author, Asaph? Asaph was the Temple Musician/song writer during the time of David and Solomon. He is credited as the author of 12 Psalms, with 83 being the last. While many Psalms are prophetic in nature, the focus of this Psalm is prayer. Specifically, prayer to God for protection of God’s people from the enemies that surround Israel. These enemies are listed in verses 6-8. Notice what the Psalmist says about what they are plotting; They “make a tumult‘, they have “lifted up their head“, they have “taken crafty counsel against your people“, they have “consulted together” they have said “let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more“, they have consulted together with one consent“, they “form a confederacy against you“. (Psalm 83:2-5). Sound familiar ? Following is a map of these nations and their modern day counterparts;

During the time of Asaph’s ministry, these nations were not much of a threat, so, perhaps Asaph wanted this song sung by the Israelites as an ongoing prayer to prevent a future threat. There are no biblical accounts of a decisive war against these particular nations all at the same time. But, there is one that comes close in our modern era. The 1967 war. Against incredible odds, Israel fought against the combined militaries of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon. the PLO, and the Saudi air force. It was a miraculous victory for Israel giving her control of the Golan, Gaza, the West Bank, the Sinai peninsula, and Jerusalem including the temple mount. It was a relatively short war that included all the modern counterparts of Israel’s enemies listed in Psalm 83. Might this have been the object and fulfillment of Asaph’s prayer ? It is certainly an obvious candidate. However, there may be another fulfillment in our near future.

As I write this, Israel has just ended an aerial conflict with Hamas on its southern border involving thousands of missiles fired from Gaza. Hamas is an Iranian military proxy devoted to the destruction of Israel. Hamas is not the only Iranian proxy so inclined. To the north is Hezbollah in Lebanon and Shiite militias in Syria. To the east are Iraqi Shiite militias and Iran itself. To the south are the well armed Houthi Shiites, another Iranian proxy. They are all “consulting together to cut Israel off from being a nation”. I think this looming situation may be a focus of Asaph’s prayer. A war between Israel and Iran’s proxies seems imminent. I think this Gaza war was Iran testing Israel’s capabilities. Iran will probably coordinate a massive attack by her proxies in the near future. If the prayer of Psalm 83 is answered, these proxies will be totally destroyed.

So, to sum up, Psalm 83 is primarily a prayer that likely was answered in 1967, with a future 2nd fulfillment imminent between Israel and limited to Iran’s militant Islamic proxies. We can have a part in the outcome of that. When you read Psalm 83, quote it as a prayer to God for the safety and peace of Israel.

The above post aptly describes today’s situation, as it is happening again, but this time much worse. I would like to reemphasize that we pray Psalm 83 for Israel’s protection. Find it in your bible, read it as a prayer, and do it daily during this tense period of conflict surrounding Israel.

Israel-Hamas Conflict

If you’re at all like me you’ve been closely following the situation in Israel/Gaza. And, like me, I’m sure you’re pondering what the prophetic implications of this war might be. One fulfillment is certain. Jesus listed “wars and rumors of wars” as one of the beginnings of birth pangs preceding Daniel’s 70th week. This clearly fits that description. But are there other prophetic implications?

While I don’t see any other fulfillment of a direct prophecy of scripture in this conflict, I do see portents of things to come. How nation-states are aligning in support of Israel or Hamas and the “Palestinians” is quite telling. The stage is being set for a multitude of last days events. Remember, a ten-nation confederacy must be formed that will be allied with the soon to be revealed antichrist. Also, a short-lived peace in this war-torn area will be achieved in a “covenant with many” allowing Israel to restart temple worship on the temple mount. Another prophecy to watch for is the Ram-Goat war of Daniel chapter 8, which will likely involve Turkey and Iran. Another is the dire certainty of WW3 described in Revelation chapter 9 starting in the area of the Euphrates River that will result in the horrific death of one third of the world’s population. Though this war will probably not happen till the second half of Daniel’s 70th week, the main players are exposing their potential alliances during this current conflict.

We know that at some point, virtually all nations on earth will abandon Israel, and align themselves with the chief deceiver, the antichrist. It seems that every nation on earth due to this war is brazenly exposing the antisemitic elements that exist in their countries. Unfortunately, before she is finally delivered, Israel will yet suffer a much greater loss of life then this war during the “great tribulation” as foretold by Jesus. Israel has suffered much in the past. Two crushing exiles, pogroms, the holocaust, worldwide antisemitism, etc., but the worst is yet to come. Israel needs to learn not to rely on any ally other than God to fight alongside her. We need to continue prayer for the peace of Jerusalem and all of Israel.

We must also remember that virtually all biblical prophecy is Israel/Jerusalem/middle east centric. Therefore, any significant news from this region of the world requires our attention. We’re quickly approaching the final events of this age and we need to be watching as prophecy is fulfilled and properly preparing as our Lord commanded.

2030 Video

A good friend of mine recently reminded me of a video I had intended to watch but had not gotten around to till now. Obviously, from the title, it has to do with eschatology, specifically the timing of Jesus’s second coming. While it doesn’t attempt to predict the exact day or hour, it does predict the year, 2030. Personally, my studies lead me to include Daniel’s 70th week (7 years) as an add-on to the 2030 date. While the commentator wanders off into many numerical coincidences that may or may not have any bearing on the scriptural case for dating Jesus’ return, he does point out some of the significant reasons for that being the season. These reasons I also elaborated on in my recent book “Last Days Events Sequence and Synchrony”. These include the millennial sabbath, the Hosea prophecy, the jubilee calendar, and the prophesied length of the 2nd Jewish exile. This book can be found here: Last Days Events: Sequence and Synchrony: Weinert, J D: 9798858723684: Amazon.com: Books

While the video is quite long and is presented in two parts, I think it is worth your listen. The producers have put a huge amount of labor into its production. Part one can be found here: Messiah 2030 ~ The Prophetic Messianic Timeline – Part 1 – YouTube

I think that messages such as these will be increasing in frequency for Christians as we approach Jesus’ return. The church is not in darkness so that His coming will be like a “thief in the night”. (1Thessalonians 5:4). That is reserved for all the unbelievers in this world. The Holy Spirit will be in communication with God’s people in these last days. Of that, we can be certain. Jesus said when the Spirit comes “He will tell you of things to come“. (John 16:13). I think He’s in the process of doing just that.

Gospel of the Kingdom

Christian ministers/preachers generally do a good job of presenting the gospel (good news) of salvation. That’s fine and necessary, of course, but Jesus Himself told His disciples to emphasize preaching the gospel of the kingdom. That is, that there is a coming kingdom to this earth Where Jesus as King rules the earth on the throne of David from Jerusalem, Israel, the capitol city of the world. This coming kingdom is indeed good news for a broken world. Jesus sent out the twelve: “He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:2). Jesus Himself always preached the kingdom. “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom....” (Matthew 4:23). “Now after John was put into prison, Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.” (Mark 1:14)

In virtually all of Jesus’s many parables, the kingdom of God is central. Take the time to read Matthew 13:10 thru 13:52. You’ll see what I mean. If you think that preaching the gospel of the kingdom is not important, consider this: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)

So, if preaching the gospel of the kingdom is of paramount importance to Jesus, why aren’t we hearing more of it from pulpits around the world? Considering this late date and nearness to Jesus second coming to set up His kingdom, preachers everywhere should be emphasizing this gospel of the kingdom. If your church leadership seems to be ignoring this critical teaching, ask them why. No excuse will ever be satisfactory. Christians need to hear this important message.

A Primer on Last Days Events

I’ve recently published a book that focuses on what I call “chronological eschatology”. I think you might find it helpful as we approach the end-times and Jesus’s second coming. Will There Ever Be a One-World Government?

The “god of this world”, Satan, is certainly trying to establish just such an entity. Of course, he’ll use his chosen human, the antichrist, to carry out his goals. Prophecy scholars debate just how expansive his eventual empire will be by the time he sets up the abomination of desolation on Jerusalem’s temple mount. It certainly will include all of the ancient Ottoman empire and much of the surrounding territories, but just how much of what we term “western civilization” is not clear from scripture. It may be the whole globe, or something less, as hinted at by scriptures such as this from the prophet Daniel: When speaking about the king of the north (antichrist) at the appointed time (time of the end) he says the following: “For ships from Kittim (western lands) shall come against him; therefore, he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage.” (Daniel 11:30). He will definitely have some powerful enemies that might not align with his despotism.

Currently, the world-wide push from globalists seeking a one-world government seems uncoordinated. And that’s by design. God’s design, of course. All of the powerful players behind this effort such as the UN, WEF, WHO and many other powerful but nefarious organizations aided by most of the political leaders of nation states as well as revered “thought leaders” and billionaire businessmen thru ought the globe comprise what the bible calls “Mystery Babylon”. This loosely knit entity described in Revelation chapters 17, 18, and 19 will achieve a modicum of success in our near future with the help of AI, digital currencies, media control, and control of human resources necessary for life. Mystery Babylon is currently maturing and like the coming antichrist is also controlled by the god of this world. (See the article “Mystery Babylon” linked to below.) As Christians, we need to learn to rely on God to meet our needs, not the worlds systems. This is a tall order, but one we must master if we are to “endure to the end” as Jesus commanded. Jesus is our example. Let’s learn from Him.

Both Mystery Babylon and antichrist’s world dominating kingdoms will come to total destruction, one of them at the hand of the other. Mystery Babylon will be destroyed by the beast (antichrist) and his ten-nation alliance who hate her. The antichrist will then dominate and try to impose his economic and religious system on the world before he finally meets his demise at Jesus’s coming.

Saints, we’re heading for one evil system of world governance followed by another. There doesn’t appear to be any respite till the return of Jesus. Then, world governance will be amazing! I can’t wait!

Red Heifer Commentary

This article by Olivier Melnick discusses the necessity of a kosher red heifer in preparation for a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. He calls it the “missing piece of the prophetic puzzle”.

Biblical Illiteracy and Deception

I’m going to be blunt. Christians have absolutely no excuse for remaining biblically illiterate. Unfortunately, that is the state of most Christians today. As we approach the last days of this age, it’s imperative that we have a working knowledge of the entirety of scripture. After giving them a detailed teaching about what to expect as the end times draw near, Jesus told His disciples “Take heed that no one deceives you.” (Matthew 24:4) “Take heed” here is the Greek word blepo. It means to perceive or discern, have the power of understanding. In other words, Jesus said; obtain the power of understanding My word so that you will not be deceived. This “power of understanding” comes from deep study of our bible and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s direction for our lives. Simply attending a Sunday morning service and a once a week bible study will not suffice.

Wide spread deception is already here, dominating media, governments, all sorts of social constructs, and yes, even our families and churches. We have no choice but to be individually prepared to deal with this deception even to the point of suffering intense persecution. And, its going to get worse. Much worse.

Just think about the amount of time we spend entertaining ourselves and browsing the internet and social media. If we spent equal time in God’s word, we would quickly become proficient in rightly handling scripture both to our benefit and to those in our sphere of influence. Most importantly, we would not be ignoring the primary means of communication to us directly from our Creator. We have in our possession a long love letter from our Master. We would do well to not ignore it. And, we would avoid the biblical illiteracy that leads to deception.

I hope that being this blunt doesn’t offend you. We all need to be strong in His Word.

UFO’s and the Bible

A few years ago, I posted a short article on ufo’s, aliens, and the bible. Because of the renewed interest in ufo’s due to congressional hearings currently ongoing in the US I thought it might be good to repost that article. Here it is:

Et’s, UFO’s, and the Bible

You may recall news of a UFO cult called Heavens Gate, that committed mass suicide in 1997. They were following a couple who claimed to be the two witnesses of Revelation. They believed that physical death would allow them to ascend to a space ship associated with the comet Hale-Bopp. Thirty nine of them died in this incredible deception. Jesus warned us that the last days would be filled with deception. The belief in super-intelligent life forms piloting UFO’s is wide spread in our day. Various unexplained sightings, alien abductions, reports of ancient alien visitations, the popularity of sci-fi movies, government cover ups, etc. fuel this belief. Even the bible is used as a source of belief in extra-terrestrials. Following is my take on this subject.

First I’ll make a simple observation about UFO’s. They’re unidentified. Until such a time arrives that we have clear visual and mechanical details complete with inspection, even the most controversial incidents will remain just that; unidentified.

Next, lets get into the bible. All the descriptions of so-called UFO’s in the bible, such as Ezekiel chapter 1, constitute visions where the prophet is given a glimpse into the spirit realm. There is a spirit realm where God and His angels reside, but it remains outside of the physical realm we inhabit. These visions do not depict UFO’s from another place in our physical universe. Various commentators try to invoke the “fornicating angels” theory whereby the Nephilim of Genesis are making last days appearances in UFO’s. A sound rebuttal of this theory is contained in the article permanently linked below entitled “The ‘Sons of God’ and the ‘Daughters of Men'”. Yes, angels do appear in this physical realm from time to time as clearly seen in the bible, but, only as God’s messengers, not UFO pilots. And yes, we do need to be wary of Satan and his minions. They will as Jesus said “….show great signs and wonders to deceive….” (Matthew 24:24). “Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” (2Corinthians 11:14)

Does the bible allow for beings from other than planet earth to exist elsewhere in the universe? Specifically, beings much more advanced than humankind in order for them to travel impossible distances to get here? In the beginning, God and Jesus created man in Their image. ” Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” (Genesis 1: 26) “For man …. is the image and glory of God” (1Corinthians 11:7). These statement and others indicate that man as created by God was special in that he was God-like. Adam, before the fall, was the smartest being ever created with the exception being Jesus Himself. Adam was at a level where he walked and talked (communed) with his creator. If there exists in this universe advanced beings of greater intelligence than Adam, they would have to fit in between Adam and God. However, the fact that man was created in God’s likeness does not give room for such beings. IMHO, the bible does not allow for super intelligent ET’s that could pilot UFO’s across the universe.

But, you may be wondering, what about simpler life forms, plant and animal, could they exist on other planets ? Concerning this, the bible is silent. Life is only described here on earth and in the spirit realm. We can only speculate. On the third day of creation, God created the sun, moon and the stars. Then He “stretched them out” to the expanse we now see. This stretching is described in Isaiah 42:5,45:12, 51:13 and Jeremiah 10:12,and 51:15. For all you astro-physicists out there, this was the real “expansion” big-bang theorists try to describe. God doesn’t do anything without a reason. While we know He created this earth to be inhabited by His creation (Isaiah 45:18), He also had a purpose for creating the vast universe. I suspect His perfected creation after the millennial reign will be involved. Could God have designed vast Edenic real estate for His people throughout the universe to inhabit ? I’m only speculating, of course, but some sort of life may be awaiting us just as Eden was prepared for the creation of Adam. The Apostle Paul quoted Isaiah thusly; “”Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1Corinthians 2:9). He also said this about when perfection comes; “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” (1Corinthians 13:12) The implication here is that Paul (and us) will “know”(have knowledge) just as God does.

So, to sum up, the bible seems to prohibit super intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, and thus, ET UFO pilots. However, I would not be surprised if non intelligent flora and fauna were to be eventually found on other worlds, most likely after His second coming. For now, UFO’s remain unidentified. We absolutely need to be prepared for all sorts of deception in these last days. I hope you’ll spend more time reading and studying God’s word then pondering UFO mysteries.
