Due to the fact that this blog focuses on eschatology and exposits end time passages, skepticism, mockery, and derision are to be expected. However, comments so far have been largely supportive and complimentary. I believe that’s because the readership here primarily consists of those interested in end-time topics. As long as proper exegesis of scripture is presented minus wild speculation, I expect that will continue.
Peter had this to say about the last days; “knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.’ “ (2Peter 3: 3-4) Notice here that they are focused on their own desires and not the things of God. Peter goes on to say that they forget that God has already judged mankind with a flood and has promised to do it again, but this time by fire. What they perceive as slowness on God’s part is His “longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2Peter 3:9)
Christian pastors and teachers need to include comprehensive end-time teaching in their messages regardless of what scoffers may say. Jesus singled out those with teaching responsibility; “Who then is that faithful and wise steward whom his Master will make ruler over His household to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his Master will find so doing when He comes.” (Luke 12:42-43) “Due Season” is now! The food portion is teaching what the Spirit is telling them about these last days. We are currently living in the last days witnessing the “beginnings of birth pangs” Jesus spoke about.
The Epistle of Jude says this; “they (the apostles) told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.” (Jude 18-19)
We need to ignore the mockers and scoffers and prepare in every way for what’s soon coming. Jesus gave us abundant and clear signs and instruction. Let’s keep our lamps burning and filled with oil. The scoffers will eventually come to you for wisdom as end time events unfold.
